Country Sports Ireland training courses are designed to be an enjoyable learning experience in a safe and relaxed environment. All our courses are learner friendly, professionally delivered by industry leading experts and accepted by the relevant statutory authorities.
For example, the Country Sports Ireland Deer Stalking Training Course is acceptable to Coillte for any person hunting under licence on Coillte lands and also National Parks and Wildlife Service in respect of Section 42 License applications.
The Country Sports Ireland Large Wild Game (Deer) meat handling course is recognised by the appropriate Competent Authorities in RoI including the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
We also offer members the opportunity to undertake the DSC1 course in NI which is accepted by the PSNI as part of the criteria for the grant of a deer legal calibre rifle.
Country Sports Ireland is approved by Lantra as a training provider. Lantra is a leading awarding body for land-based industries and Lantra accreditation is important acknowledgement of the quality of training provided by Country Sports Ireland and of the knowledge and competence of our instructors.

The Country Sports Ireland Trained Hunter Large Wild Game (Deer) meat hygiene course consists of comprehensive presentations and detailed practical demonstration on freshly shot deer carcasses. Learners who successfully complete a multiple choice written assessment gain the Trained Hunter qualification and are therefore able to sell deer carcasses to Approved Game Handling Establishments. A Training Manual is included in the cost of the course and is posted to all learners upon registration..

The Country Sports Ireland DSC1 course will cover all relevant topics such as identification and ecology of 6 UK deer species, UK and NI deer & firearms legislation legislation, safety, ballistics and shooting performance. A DSC1 certificate will be issued to all those who successfully complete the course assessments. There is also a Game Meat Hygiene section of the course with a certificate also issued to all candidates who successfully complete a multiple choice paper. This course is open to Country Sports Ireland members only.
